Eye care for dogs

A dog's eyes are very sensitive

That familiar look of loyalty you get from a dog is not only cute to see, but unfortunately can also be very susceptible to irritation in some cases. A dog's eyes are hypersensitive to air currents, (tobacco) smoke, fragrances or other room odours. Even air conditioning in the car or strong wind out on a walk can irritate your four-legged friend's eyes. If the area around the eyes is sticky, swollen or sore,or the dog is perhaps squinting its eyes, this may even be a sign of a more serious problem.

Inflamed eyes and infections in and around the eyes should be treated promptly. Always see a vet if in doubt.

If a dog's eyes are watering or it has cuts to the face

Clear eyes and a clean area around the eyes are signs that our four-legged friend is in good health. However, with some dogs, their eyes water profusely or the surrounding fur gets crusty. Increasing secretion of tear fluid primarily helps the eye clean itself in the event of dust or foreign bodies. However, this self-cleaning can be too much if the dog is unwell or injured. It is important the eyes are cared for constantly in these situations.

Our tip:

If your four-legged friend's eyes are sticky or dirt is blurring its vision, Eye Clean+Care is a gentle, caring way to help. Apply the liquid around the eye and face where it can help clean cuts and tear ducts. Eye Clean+Care can also be applied to clean and treat tick bites around the eyes.
